Project Brief

Aldenham School partnered with TaskSpace to transform its Science facilities, creating a suite of modern, high-performing laboratories. The project involved a complete redesign of outdated teaching spaces, introducing bright, open-plan labs with integrated technology, specialist furniture, and flexible layouts. Alongside practical teaching areas, breakout zones and preparation spaces were added to support collaborative learning and cross-disciplinary projects.

Purpose

The school identified that its entire Science facility no longer reflected the ambition of its STEM curriculum or the expectations of students preparing for university and beyond. Leadership wanted to create an environment that would inspire curiosity, support hands-on experimentation, and foster a culture of scientific inquiry. The aim was not just to replace outdated labs, but to establish a hub for innovation and discovery that would prepare students for the demands of modern science and technology.

Key Outcomes

The new laboratories have transformed the way Science is taught and experienced at Aldenham. Teachers can deliver more interactive and engaging lessons, while students benefit from flexible spaces that encourage independent investigation as well as group work. The professional, cutting-edge design mirrors the environments students will encounter in higher education, giving them both confidence and readiness for the next stage of their academic journey. The project has elevated the profile of STEM within the school, supporting academic ambition and reinforcing Aldenham’s reputation for providing outstanding learning facilities.
