Project Manager

TaskSpace is a reputable player in the industry, specialising in refurbishment and fitout projects. With typical project values ranging from £100K to £1M, we pride ourselves on delivering excellence from pre-contract and design phases through to final delivery and completion. Our projects cater to the education sector and occasionally extend to commercial ventures.

The Role

As a Project Manager at TaskSpace, you will be at the forefront of managing and leading refurbishment and fitout projects. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire project lifecycle, from scoping and specification writing to cost estimation, site visits, subcontractor and supplier procurement, and project programming. You will also play a crucial role in coordination, site setup, change management, client communication, and project closure.

Location and Travel:

The role may require travel to client sites primarily located north of Leighton Buzzard. An ideal base would be Midlands, with occasional visits to the office required a couple of times a week. This allows for a flexible work environment that supports your work-life balance.

Working Hours:

Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 AM – 05:00 PM, including a 1-hour unpaid break.

Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Scoping, specification writing, cost estimating, and site visits
  • Subcontractor/supplier/furniture tendering and procurement
  • Project programming, detailing, and finishing coordination
  • Drawings management
  • Coordination and set-up of the site
  • Programme management
  • Change management
  • Subcontractor/client communications
  • Handover/snagging process management
  • Valuations and cost management
  • Full project closure
  • Ongoing client care and relations

Qualifications and Personal Attributes:

  • Proven experience as a project manager or similar role within D&B/fit-out/construction projects
  • Strong leadership qualities with a self-motivated and accountable mindset
  • Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously, with values of up to £1M each
  • Previous experience in estimating, tendering, and costings preparation (highly desirable)
  • Previous tools/trade experience with strong practical skills
  • The ability to gain the respect and confidence of all internal and external stakeholders, with a client-centric approach
  • Previous experience working within a growing SME business
  • A team player with a pleasant demeanor, positive attitude, and honesty
  • Strong IT skills
