CASE STUDY
The Rosedale Hewens Academy Trust
TaskSpace was approached by Hewens Primary School with a brief to create an interior that would promote a calm and ordered atmosphere where children are encouraged to become confident, caring and articulate. By working closely with the school and the architect involved, TaskSpace was able to distil the brief down a confident, minimal design scheme and get to work.
With careful planning and specification of product, our team developed an aesthetic that not only met the requirements of the brief but is also sympathetic to the feel of the building interior, ensuring continuity and consistency throughout the school.
As you may be able to tell from the images, one of the most interesting aspects of this particular project was the deployment of furniture, seating and storage systems that you might more commonly find in a secondary school as opposed to a primary school. This deliberate design decision was taken to encourage respectful, mature behaviour, even from very small children. The thinking being that if you give children a beautiful environment and place a level of expectation upon them, generally, children will act accordingly.
The school team and the architect are both overjoyed with the results, as are we.
